Rotala Problems

My Cherry Shrimps are devouring my Rotala and most of the lower leaves are gone, but the tops are still growing. They look like stilts.

Should I chop the stem in half and replant the healthy tops and expect new leaves from the remaining bottom stems?

p.s. Half the shrimps have been moved to their own tank.

Just replant the tops of the rotala and they should bounce back. Usuay affter a trim i dose woth a little flourish comp after. If there's little to no algae in the tank, the rc's start chompin on the plants. When that happens I usually throw in a couple of algae wafers.

Btw where did you get your rcs from? I'm looking for a couple for my heard, I got keep the genetics different.

Okay thanks. I keep my tank super clean so I guess there's not enough food for them. That may explain why I have lost a few.

I found a guy on Craigslist a mile or so from me that has them, $1 each. Message me and I'll give you his info. There are few people in SJ that are selling them if you want to check CL.
