New NPT!

As some of you may know, my sister's goldfish went into the shiny new pond on Sunday, leaving his 90 litre/23 gallon tank free for me to put my fish in. I've been considered trying my hand at an NPT for a while now, and I saw this as my chance. Attached are a couple of photos:
1) The tank as was, plain and boring with a goldfish that was too big.
2) The tank with dirt and the hardscape.
3) The tank with sand.
4) The tank in all its glory, fish included.

Flora:
- 2 x ambulia (1 giant, 1 normal)
- 2 x wisteria
- 2 x lacefern
- 2 x ludwigia repens
- 1 x elodea
- 1 x pennywort
- anubias
- 1 x susswassertang
- java fern by the bucketload
- java moss
- 1 x milfoil
- 1 x valisneria
- 2 x varigated rush
Possibly some other stuff. Heaps of driftwood, most of which I transplanted java fern or moss or both onto, plus two terracotta pots.
Substrate is Miracle-Gro with a silver sand cap.

I do need to do something about the size of that huge java fern in the front right - it is covering the plants at the back.
I have a 5 gallon tub of java fern left over. The stuff is ridiculously successful in my tanks.

Fauna:
- 4 x female bettas (Catelyn, Cersei, Arya and Danaerys)
- 3 x peppered cories (Lord Denning, Lord Fraser of Tully-Belton, Crispin A-J)
- 1 x bronze cory (Heydon J)
- 12 x Endlers (6 male, 6 female - I think)
- 6 x kuhli loaches
I will be adding one more peppered cory and 3 more bronze/albino. I'm considering a BN pleco, that will live in the pond by summer and my tank by winter.

The question now is, what to do with the tank upstairs? I still have heaps of silver sand left, and I know that I want my eventual stock to include 6 ember tetras and 6 pygmy cories, minimum. I would prefer to use black sand, but it's too sharp for little cories. I have two embers in there at the moment. However, my dilemma is decor, not stocking.
Three options:
- another NPT
- a pretty zen tank
- a blackwater set up
The problem is, the tank is super tall (18 inches) with a small footprint (14 inches squared), so it is hard to decorate. Input welcome. :) I'd love to see votes in the poll.

I think you should do a blackwater style tank, with branchy wood coming down from the surface like tree roots. Throw some leaf litter on the bottom and put in some amazon frogbit and away you go.

Sort of like that look.
