top cover and Pennywort questions

I'm looking for some hardy low-mid light plants and I really like the lilly pad look of the Pennywort. I'm noticing differences between tanks where some pennywort grows low and bushy where others grow tall with hardly any petals. I want one that's going to provide an abundance of top cover and lilly pads. Any suggestions to how to grow/cultivate it and/or other similar plants?

Giant duckweed is my favourite floating plant. My bettas love sleeping in the roots. Also, floating water wisteria is really nice. My fish always sleep on top of them.

I really want pennywort but have been unable to find any
