How to transition to planted tank?

Hey folks. I'm wanting to transition to a fully planted tank for my 10 gal but don't quite know where to start.
I have a gravel substrate, and currently have 2 10watt fluorescent bulbs.
My biggest drawback is substrate--how do I transition to a planted tank when it's already established?
I wanted to get some ghost shrimp but I have some african dwarf frogs in with my betta--would the shrimp and frogs be okay together?
Also, I'm seeing a lot of tanks with hornwort floating--does that ever cause an issue for bettas/frogs coming up for air?
Thanks!

Currently I have a large moss ball, some anacharis, and some tall grass that I forgot the name of. lol

If you want you can keep the gravel but you would want to add root tabs for any plants you plant. They will release nutrients for the plants roots. For lighting see if the hood will take any higher watt bulbs. If not you should be ok for med and low light plants. Anubias is a wonderful low light plant. Slow grower even with lots of light and c02. You can keep those plus mosses and Bacopa (moneywort). There are other plants to check out so keep searching for the plants you'd like to keep.
