Wanting a New Plant for a 10 Gallon

My 10 gallon tank is divided and has a small amazon sword on each side. I'm wanting a floater plant whose stems I can tie to the divider using fishing line. Unless I lower the water level another inch my bettas can get over the divider, so having the plants blocking it seems like a good idea.

Are there any floaters that don't reproduce really quickly or that are easy to remove baby shoots from? What plant would be best?

Java Fern doesn't grow very fast and you can tie to the divider but I'd really suggest you'd just lower the waterline. You really don't want to risk them tearing each other apart, that's never fun trust me. It's not going to hurt anything to lower it, my 10 always stays about 2 inches below the very rim of the tank.

I found the problem, 007 kept wiggling through a small gap between the divider and the tank wall. I fixed it and will also lower the water a bit more.
