My Frogbit is Dying Off :(

I have had this frogbit for a few weeks, and it started out sending shoots out very often but not its not multiplying at all. It looks like it is dying! :( Could it be my lighting? I have the standard LED lighting that came with my aquarium. Or could it be lack of ferts? I haven't used any, but my anubias is doing great. I don't know what to try.

If I were to get fertilizers, should I get seachem flourish or seachem flourish excel?

My frogbit took about a month to start doing well. I had just about given up hope. Now I pull handfuls out twice a week to feed my turtles!

Does your tank have a hood? I found that when I raised the hood up to let more air in, it helped. With a cover, the accumulated moisture was too much and made the frogbit melt. Also, frogbit will grow much slower if it's constantly being blown around by a filter.

Flourish supplies nutrients. Excel supplies inorganic carbon. You could do both. If you were to just get one, I would do the Flourish.

Maybe my hood is the problem! I've removed it now. *crossing fingers*
