Marching band was not just awesome, marching bands are like a family. You will freeze your butt off wearing little outfits and injure yourself well doing so or your drenched in sweat because your wearing a bulky uniform in 90 degree weather. I sprained my a ligament for my thumb before a half time show during the homecoming game. I ended up marching my drill with an ice pack then left the game early because we thought I broke a bone.

Also I use to be in marching band, I was in color guard for all 4 years of high school. Unfortunately, There isn't a color guard or marching band at my college. :(

That's nice that you find it easier. Spanish is hard because of my spelling issue....I'm terrible in English as well. -_- It's nice that in Japanese you can use characters that mean words so I don't spell them wrong.

That sounds fun, I would love to learn more about anatomy. What language are you learning? I've taken Spanish for three years going on four in school, but am fluent in English and Japanese. Spanish is one of my hardest classes, but I'm sticking with it for all of high school because it looks good on college applications. :p

Mine is pretty similar; I have four core classes (math, science, language arts/english, and history/social studies) And three electives (language, music, and PE) But this is my freshman schedule so I will have more AP classes next year and will erase PE from my list of classes FOREVA'! Not that I don't like PE but I hate running 4 miles every month.

I was hoping to take music theory again but I don't think I have any free periods this year. :( At your school do you get to choose elective classes? Because those are the ones you can try to focus on to help in the future. But I don't know if all high schools are the same.

Politics really doesn't interest me. But my favorite history teachers do a good job of keeping it about the topic and not relating it to politics. But most of my classes this year are anthropology and geo-sciences. Then I can move up to the classes relating paleontology. Are you focusing on classes like music theory or anything?

Haha that's a good plan! I've wanted to be a paleontologist for as long as I can remember, but I love all types of history and artifacts so that's how I learned about archeology....but after I get married I want to either be a part time professor or work as a museum curator. Kind of like Indiana Jones hehehe (but without the life or death situations)

It is hard to get your name in the music world but I would love to teach music as a director as well. You never know what connections you might get in college though. :) Yet I'm taking a different rout and am hopefully going to become an archeologist that specializes in paleontology.*Science nerd*

Yeah, it took me a while to figure out where all the notes are located on each string. I'm still learning 4th and 7th position, but I have the rest figured out for violin, viola and cello. It still surprises me how we can learn and remember each note on an instrument with ease. With your music major in college, are you going to become a professional musician? Or something else?

Haha I think everyone has a personal preference to what they feel works for them. I have asthma so I think that plays a factor in why I can't play wind instruments. I think winds and strings have a lot of similarities though, not just what clef you play in. Like how wind players use their lips, string players use our bows. It changes how the song will sound. But their are A LOT of differences....on a flute I can't figure out which keys are the right ones and which keys don't move at all. xD

Hello fellow musician! One of my best friends plays the clarinet and bass clarinet and I wish for the life of me I could figure out how to blow into a wind instrument. Since you are a drum major, are you in a marching band or something similar? I find it amazing that people can lead a whole group of people like that. I'm not so good at conducting...
