I'm down to only three tanks, 2x5g and a 3g. Two plakats and a wild ocellata. I'm enjoying only 1/2hr a week for water changes.

If they made micro goldfish I could keep in a 10g, I'd get one too. Congratulations.

Hiya Kate. Haven't seen you around as much lately. But then I haven't been on as much as I used to. Doing OK, I guess. How's by you?

SURE the catch is that by the time you get an aquarium large enough for one Goldfish you can keep multiples. The biggest mistake made with Goldfish is they try to keep them in aquarium that aren't appropriate in size. I will also caution that fancy Goldfish are not an easy fish.

Whoops, sorry. Sometimes I get confused. I meant to suggest you run it a while and see of the nitrate rises.

Yeah. I know the feeling. Well, run it for a week with pure ammonia just for your own edification.

Well, Stability is way better than Nutrafin Cycle. It's the one professional aquarist Carl Strhmeyer recommends. But his article was written before BioSpira morphed into Safestart and Dr Tim's O&O, and all the rest came onto the market.

Not for cycling. It disolves gunk and promotes a biofilm for the real bacteria to latch onto. You still have to wait for the real nitrifying bacteria to fall out of the sky. As far as I can tell, it does not contain nitrosomonsas or nitrospia (or nitrobacter), which are autotorophic bacteria. It has heterotrophic bacteria.

Sometimes there just isn't any bacteria in the air when you need it. I thought you had another cycled tank..not so?

Btw, green is the color that humans have the most acuity in apprehending.

Darn cycle crashed. I know you know not to put fish in 1.0ppm ammonia. So dose up and let it recycle. Use Safestart if you like.
