sorry just wanted to add another thing to the previous message, should I try 3 tsp aquarium salt for day 10,11,12,13,14? (extending 10 day treatment to 14 with that high dosage)

The leftover fin rot isn't too serious enough for meds, but most likely won't go away by clean water alone, and Tarris is still peppy and not too stressed out and even digesting better ever since he's been in the hospital tank. (poops daily, less constipated, i was wondering how come, does it have to do with being more active or stressed with all the 100% changes?)

also i forgot to tell you thank you for helping on that thread with bloated betta. I learned from your post about how to distinguish fatty tissue from fish having an internal infection or internal parisitis.

Hi, I've been referred to you buy LittleBlueFishlets.

I have a veil tail betta who has severe fin rot. He took a turn in July and essentially stopped swimming in September. He's currently in about 2 inches of heated water. He still eats pellets but it takes (both of us) a lot of effort to make that happen.

Here is a link to a long thread regarding his on-going problems.

Here a different thread where I posted updated photos of him from the past month to see his fin rot progression:

EDITED: Apparently I can't ad a url to this mesage.

The posts are titled: Setback in Reovery - Please HELP and
    Betta throwing up food?

In a nutshell, he's been on Kanaplex, epsom salt, aquarium salt, Maracyn 2 and none of them have worked.

I was hoping you'd have some new advice.

    Thank you.

yah I've looked into those logs before and most reviews talk of the colour fading into the water after a week. Thanks I'll look into really tall plants.

Hey Sakura, what do you suggest is a good thing to buy that allows a betta to rest near the top of the tank other than real live plants. My betta loved the plant that used to be suction cupped to the side so i can adjust the height but there was metal in its stem and started rusting as every zoo med decor does. (Leaf hammocks and all those zoo med plants rusts)

Would there be much harm if I did try general cure? I've been suspecting it's something internal (within his tummy area?) that's bugging him. What's the safest thing/alternative to do without knowing exactly what? It seems as whatever is bugging him is bugging him even more as his tail has a bit of fin rot now, as in his immune system dropped a bit due to something and allowed fin rot to occur. (not dramatic, but it's enough to bug me that something's off) Tarris seems a bit less energetic, not lethargic, but it's like something is slightly bugging him, iunno I can just tell.

I'm just particularly worried "trial meds" will actually make things worse and resulting in still not knowing the cause. I don't even know if its bacterial so using antibiotics related meds could just potentially harm him, and make that medication useless in the future.

Anywho, I'm thinking of holding off meds for now, but I want to start proposing backup plans if things get worse, and get necessary meds ready.

Is it okay if I resort to general cure if it gets worse later on? He gets easily stressed so I don't want to freak him out when it's not nessary. Just wondering, but what exactly do you mean by compressing his stomach and what had hinted towards that inference? (like which symptoms in particular, i'm just curious i'm not trying to doubt or be offensive or anything if it came ou that way)

Also, I think it was just the fact I was feeding him at like 7am almost pitch black so uh yah... he's a sleepy little fella, he's having no issues when I fed him the last few days when it was quite sunny thus a lot brighter

Also, how long doyou suggest i should try this new feeding scheduale?
And should I continue to feed brine shrimp or daphnia once a week?

Thank you so much , i just posted your reply . I wish i would know that before. Thank you for all the info. She will treat him again. Should she use General cure or Clout that is more powerful. Or use General first and then go to Clout?

Just changed his water, he's pooping a lot less but he doesnt seem to be bloated or anything. With NLS pellets (6 days/week) he doesn't get that reaction, but I do feed him brine shrimp/daphnia once a week and he really bloats to that almost minutes after eating it and then it goes down to normal within maybe 40 minutes. (Even if its the smallest ammount he still gets that tummy swelled up reaction)

I was just wondering what I can do, soak pellets in garlic juice to boost immune system? I"ll try the feed him every other day for a week as well. (2 meals of 2 pellets a day)

    Thanks again Sakura :)

Note: Lately I've noticed he's having accuracy issues with "launching" himself at pellets when eating. He might swim too fast and ends up w/ pellet floating above head where he probably can't see and he gets confused to where it went and it takes him awhile to realize what happened, if he does realize. Before it was *sees pellet* *launches himself at it accurately and chomp*

Also, he gets an "allergic reaction" and bloats up trying to digest other brands of pellets and to frozen foods as well.(but he needs to get his proteins ect) The reaction is bloating for about 30mins, it looks as his scales are on the verge of raising. When I got him over a year ago his scales had also looked as they were on verge of starting to rise but never did and I was paranoid about it too but now a year has passed, it still looks like it on the verge of raising(and possibly the tiniest bit even more on verge of rising), could it really be possible dragon scale genes mixed into him or is it possibly still an underlying problem that could possibly explode out into a huge issue any moment? He seems fine,(active ect) well other than the sensitiveness to foods that i'm paranoid is connected to the raising of his scales.

Sakura, I was just wondering what kind of a feeding scheduale do you have for your bettas? My little guy seems to be pooping much less for the past 3 weeks and now today I found a blob of... a "broken wad" of poop. it's not exactly solid, it looks like fish diarhea or something. (and it's not white)

I normally give him 2 meals of 2 New Life Spectrum Betta Pellets, and one meal of brine shrimp a week.
