Everything was great. The girls looked prefect, out of the four shipments I've gotten they probably looked the least stressed of all I've gotten. I was actually surprised by how much care you obviously took. I waited for the heat pack to stop putting out heat to throw it away (just being careful) and it hit the trash last night, so it worked for a good long time. I'm not sure if it was 100 hours, but roughly 5 days (to tired to do the math). This week I've gotten 12 bettas (got 10 in a shipment yesterday & I have to say that our girls are still my favs right now. They are just so dang cute.

Thanks, he is a ham. got him at PetSmart. People were staring at him and he was too fiesty for a lot of the kids, I noticed he had HITH and it would be a shame to have people take him home and thought it was part of the dragon scale. I did not plan to take him home but all works out pretty good. He just would not stop flaring but is pretty mellow when it comes to feeding time as in no jumping...yet.

can you check out my sale thread and remind me which one #3 is, or which one(s) you want. They all look so much alike its hard to tell them apart. But now that I have updated pictures and know exactly what to look for in each one I can figure it out better.

You have first dibs on anyone(S) that you want since you have already paid me for #3.

Sorry for the confusion! I ddint think that they had changed so much since I got them!

Try not cycled tank. My bettas live really long with 50% and 100% water changes a week. I do it for my 5 gall and i do for 2.5 gall 2-50% and 1-100% a week. It difficult to say which method is better when you have one betta. But i have 5 of them at home and i also have 2 at the office i am working, and i really think that my bettas live longer without cycling. Try that. You already tried betta in the cycled tank....I think a few more people already recommended it to you in your thread. No matter how good/right care you do they still can get sick. You can have 2 betta in the same 10 gall tank and feed the same ...and one still can get sick. But try my recommendation...i think it work great for bettas...and it not only my recommendation :) Good luck.

I think you have 2 gall tank? Can i give advice on water change? I think your tank was cycled?

About disinfection, make sure you wash really well the clorine out. And you must know that there are lots of different bleaches out there. You must not use bleach with additives (many come mixed with detergent). So, make sure it a bleach like Clorox Regular.

Usually i would say avoid to bleach heaters because people tend to submerge them and it will become very hard to remove the bleach from inside. You don't want bleach sitting inside there either as it may leach into aquarium water later or harm the heater itself. Since you already did it just make sure yo wash it well and i would completely submerge it in the clean water and upside down ...and when you dry it out keep it upside down to ensure no disinfection solution left.
