Hi I want to say thank you on replying to my post. I have been busy so I am sorry for the late reply. Yes, he flared today. Everything is so far good, except he is still laying down a lot, not so much activity as he used to but it's getting a tiny bit better. What you mean by torch what is it and how do you do it?

LOL oh god once I measured my tank cause I kept getting decor that just didn't fit, so I took a tape measure and I was measuring all the decor and One of the employees walks down the aisle, gives me the funniest stare ever and just walks away..xD I felt so dumb.

I killed my very first batch of live plants....>.> I don't have exactly the greenest thumb either lol Every live plant I've purchased from petsmart tends to kick the bucket in a few days -_- The ones I got from Petco are doing pretty great though. WHOOP :) I never really was into the whole live plant thing but I thought I'd give it an attempt..and I actually really like how it looks...:) Though my 3 gallon is allot taller than wide so while it's perfect for taller plants it SUCKS to find decor to fit in and look nice :/

A great deal more than I do, I would think. But not marine biology, just knowledge of fish-tank water chemistry, like
---how Prime splits chloramine into chlorine and ammonia
---the equilibrium of ammonia <---> ammonium depending on pH
---the difference between KH and GH
---how carbonate and bi-carbonite determine buffering capacity

And stuff. This is nor a test. And I'm not trying to showoff (as if I could).

The forum just lost it's water chemist, and I'm having a hard time carrying his water. I'm trying to see who I can ask for direction, and in what areas.

So it occurs to me that studying biomedicine my give you some background n chemistry, maybe even some knowledge of water chemistry.

I'm sorry if I made you self-conscious. I learned 20 years ago to evaluate online entities if possible. Reading siglines and Visitor Messages (or Googling) is second nature. Please know that we are laughing with you, not at you.

You brought a smile to Jaycee's and my early morning.

Your explanations are very clear and informative, reflecting your background in biomedicine. I, for one, am delighted to have you contributing to the forum.

But you might want to learn to evaluate to whom you're giving an explanation, as in telling jaycee what a Labyrinth organ does. That was charming.

Anyway, your explanation was appreciated by any lurkers who were monitoring that thread. And by me. Glad you're around.

Thank you for helping out with the disease threads. :D It means a lot to me.
We've lost so many of our old trusted people. -_- (and I have forgotten pretty much everything I know about diseases hehe).

Oh don't worry, they are separated by a wall. However with his immunity stripped I have been spending the majority of time building his gram positive T lymphocyte resistance to prevent relapses. After all antibiotics are only the answer when nothing else works.

Trust me when I say I will be happy too when he gets to go back. I have found myself yelling at them both to settle down like siblings squabbling over everything. I miss the happy tank families we had going on...

Also one tip -at any time when you have a sick fish be careful and do not cross -contaminate anything between all of your fishy and sick one.
Oh and good luck! Thank you for an update, its always makes me happy to hear a good news:)

lol i had to read your original post to remember what was the problem. Well i would think if he is still in this world he should be fine! The post was made in 08/13. I hope you can put him back in his own tank. I really think that bettas live longer in their own tanks ,and get stressed in the bigger community tanks.
