Neacco sadly passed away on the morning of 11/5/2012
He had what appeared to be fin rot. He when thru api salt treatments & two differnt types of antibiotics. i am thankful for the nine months we had together as he was a bundle of energy most days & had his own goofy personality..that i fell in love with. he kept me company as ive spent mostly every day with him since he was adopted nine months ago.
I pray that he is in a better place now where illness cannot rob him of his happiness. I luv u lots neacco rip little buddy...luv mommy

I put api aquarium salt in numerous times this last month along with api stress coat. Recently added api fran2 an antibiotic hes on like 5th or 6th round of it....hope things get better soon. Neaccos fin rot & illness + lack of energy is highly concerning....i fear i might lose him soon=/ he eats@ meal time but has such a lack of motivation & move ment. I clean his tank once a week since theres filters in his tank...that also get switched out ever two weeks.

Thankfull neacco is healthy & energetic lately....he was very constipated this last month for like2~3 weeks tryed empsom salt up to 3tbsp per gallon in his 5gallon tank... tryed diphania nothing would pushings along so I gave into the green peas which really helped I've read in a few places that green peas are bad for there digestive track....very thankfull my little buddy is healthy and energetic as I am a home maker for the time being and tend to spend a lot of time around neacco.

The ph I test when changing the water with spring and bottled water I don't use the ups & downs for the water if anything I use the fauset water to balance it toward 7.0...as some of the bottled water is a low ph wich Is more acidic* this processes dosnt bother him.....the amonia test I picked up is helpfull yet to see any spikes in the tank as I have a filter system and change his water out regualary...bolth test are api products and are liquid test kits....all be picking a master kit up once I have a good paying job. Neacco is the coolest little dude ever & he loves his tank I'm slowly adding things to it to make it more home like to him. I'm trying to pre grow some betta bulbs that will help turn his tank into an underwater jungle...I have only one silk plant in for now not a huge fan of the plastic crap lol.

*its truely a sad day when a family pet passes away* rip betta buddy
I posted a tread today ...about empsom salt...was kinda confused and thought there was a certain brand for fish or product. I got some answers to clarify ...as long as humans can drink it it should be fine for the bettas...no fragrances or what not. I picked up a ph test kit & a ammonia test kit. I don't feel confortable with cycling the 5gallon tank yet id like neacco to be a 100% befor he has to put up with that. I don't know how much a 5 gallon can cycle come pared to a 10 gallon tank...I put his subtrate back in the tank...filter systems running and the heater keeps the tank at 80'f. He loves his 5gallon tank& truely spazes when I have to remove him from the tank so I thought maby only one 100% every 4weeks or so...and 75% once a week and one 25% once a week. Pre soaking his pellets to help keepem from the constipation issues and feedings every other day...

Unfortunately he passed. I would check your water parameters for ammonia, nitrate, and nitrites. The epsom salt can be found usually at dollar type stores, wal-mart and grocery stores. You can find it in the first aid section.

@ freemike. ..that seems very stressfull to you too...its so hard to watch the little buddys when there sick or stressed out...seems like your on the right track to getting him healthy...good luck with ur betta buddy how is he today? Is he really slugish\ tierd a lot for futur referances? Dude I whent to two differnt pet stores today looking for empsont salt wtf* maby gotta pre order it? Came up with a plan to ward off constipation...feedem every other day...alternating between pre soaked pellets(betta bio gold) & diphania.... he got a little fin rot I noticed yesterday ...kinda confused as to why...I do a 75% water change once a week and then maby a 25% change once a week...maby I should do 50% 2 x whatcha think + I have a filter system in? 5gallon...finally put his tank subtrate back in today...also some aquarium salt to help halt the fin rot issue.

He's doing better still has the parasite definitely going to have to do another round. I put him in clean treated water tonight. He seemed really stressed and I added some epsom salt predisolved to his water and that seems to be helping. I'm going to do another round of parasite clear tomorrow and epsom salt combined.

I have a VT too :3 Sorry, I'm still new to the whole Betta thing and I still have trouble identifying what kind they are and such. He's really beautiful btw. That dark blue is gorgeous.
