I have used oak, hickory, pecan and a few other hard woods in my tanks for my driftwood that I found out in my woods/back pasture and even a pretty cool piece I found in my fire wood stack. I have never had any problems and do try to find as dry as wood as I can that has naturally de-barked-but I have de-barked them myself and used some with a bit of bark still on them without any problems. The plecos love it...lol....You might have to weigh it down for a while...I still get tannin but I don't worry too much about it and some wood will get a white fungus that will resolve on its own....

Usually 1-5 galon tubs. I've just started using shoe boxes. They are .99 and around 1.5 gallons. I got mine from target

Yep. That's completely true. They usually only multiply to the amount of food they have so they can sustain a steady population. They are fine for planted tanks as they only eat decaying plant matter

Oh. I'll go and look, and those are actually a different type of sword. I'll try to find an old pic of the microswords

Oh, cool! I knew they would place at the convention! And thanks for looking at the thread. If you live close we can arrange a pickup somewhere in the middle for anything. Have you seen pictures of the pair yet?

Nothing. I saw your drawings, they were amazing. Did your pair arrive yet?
