So, I got some water wisteria and some type of java fern from petsmart in those little tubes, and eventually put them in two different tanks. That was about 3 weeks ago, the plants weren't really growing but they didn't appear to be dying or turning brown. This morning I checked on my smaller tank to feed my betta and the plants were droopy and brown so I took them out.
Just a few things that might help I guess:
Tank 1: 10 gal, ~76 degrees, 1 betta, marina i25 filter, heater.
Plants anacharis and water wisteria
Tank 2(affected tank): 3 gal, ~82 degrees, 1 betta, same filter, sometimes I use a heater but my light does a good job of keeping the temp constant.
Plants anacharis, water wisteria, and the java fern thing
Both my tanks are lit about 8-10 hours a day with a CFL bulb that puts out 60 watts (it's from a lamp)
Do I need to fertilize the plants, or do they react badly to higher temps? I'm at a loss and the plants are sitting in a tiny container until I can tell if they're really dead.
Please help!
