That didn't really work with my DT male~ He was lazily sitting @ the bottom of his cylindrical vase in the LPS, barely taking note of his surroundings! However, when I released him into his new home (3.33333333g of a 10g tank?), it was like he woke up.... lol. He finds his tankmates (on the other side of the dividers) interesting now!
You could judge a bettas health by looking @ the condition of their fins, are they clamped, or is he swimming around and looking @ all the other bettas around him? Does he have popeye (are his eyes jutting out abnormally?). Is he breathing hard? What is the condition of the water that he's sitting in?
i ment i tryed it with two at the petstore in the cups
