Do you guys think guppies are compatible with female bettas? I know male bettas are out of the question, but what about female? Do you think they're compatible?
I don't see why not, but all bettas are different. The generally can.
Heck, my old female (who now belongs to my sister) could care less about what tankmates she had. I have seen females rip apart the same species of fish, though.
Some females can be as aggressive as males. Each betta has his or her own personality. Some, like Cody's, couldn't care less about tankmates and others can't stand tankmates.
If I may cut in.... it really depends on personality.... Anna (my female betta) is the most aggressive little girl to my cherry barbs, and she gets along really well with guppies. so does my other female... :-D
It all depends on your female......If she is calm, and lazy then you can try it..But always have a eye on them.
My female Arriel has killed 2 guppies.. And Pearl has killed one neon+ 2 algea eaters
When I was a kid, my sister had a male betta named Timmy who was very laid back. He lived with guppies and got blamed if a guppy got hurt, even when it was guppy inflicted which we found out later. (another guppy would get the same injury and Timmy would be already confined). I was told that a betta would be fine with any other fish as long as the fish didn't resemble another betta and they had plenty of space and hiding places.
