I've asked this before on a different thread, but I have a 2.5 gallon tank, with a day&night light and a filter. I was wondering, could I keep a couple female bettas in there along with a guppy? Or would I have to just get the guppy with a shrimp or something? Sorry for the stupidity of me, although, I have kept guppies for years, yes, yes, I know they are schooling fish. I understand if I couldn't keep more than 1 betta in it... because of the bioload and the size. Any advice on what I should get would be awesome. Just I want to get something other than a male betta, if possible.... Thanks again..
im not too sure how many gallons a school of guppies needs but a 2.5 can only have a betta with a shrimp or snail together. shrimp are also potential food sources for betta if they dont have the right conditions./temperments. i dont think gupies would the best tankmates. i did see here that the guppy colours can bother betta for agression BC both species has varued colours.
First off you cannot have a couple females, the minimum number is 4+ and at least a 10g. The only things I would put in a 2.5 is shrimp, I have 3 shrimp with my female and luckily she doesn't bother them. So do so be careful. As said above.
Alright. Thanks guys. I thought I could try and if they chase the guppy could go with my other guppies, but it just sounds risky. Ok, I really don't know what I will do! Merry Christmas!
