Does anyone have any information on breeding Plakats with Vieltails?

Pictures? Genetics. I have honestly never done it before.

plakats tail are ressessive so if short tail is l and long tail is L then a plakat would be ll a VT's tail is LL which is dominant (long long) so you wouldnt get any plakats until the F2 generation as the babies would be Ll, (still long, but when u breed the babies you should end up with LL, Ll and ll) unless the VT is Ll you wont get any (or u shouldnt) plakats.
(im pretty sure im right) a breeder will probably come along soon and will help you more.
i hope i didnt confuse u.

Soz hope i didnt confuze u lol. I used punnent squares to determine the genotype (genes tigether) thereby determinin the phenotype (the way they look) this is all comming from a 14yo.
But ur mostly looking at VT's unless u breed him with a CT cause their ressessive aswell.

Breeding a plakat with a veiltail is a bad idea. You probably won't find information because no one that I know of has done it.

I am not a breeder but many have asked this question and other breeders have said not to.

One IBC breeder has done it. He's working on a show standard for them by trying to create a spade tail which he has succeeded in. So you'll end up with mostly VTs, shorter finned VTs, some Spades, and some trad PKs.

Not entirely sure but judging what others have produced spades seem to show up. But true spades are hard to find and some may be young VTs.
