Cycling.. Ammonia question

So I was doing the "fish food" cycling method.. putting some fish food in a panty hose every day.. The panty hose is now covered in white mold, and it is so gross. I hope this isn't dangerous. O-O

I want to buy ammonia instead of messing around with this garbage.
Can I use ammonia at the grocery store? Hardware store? Does it have to say "aquarium safe" How do I know if it's not safe? Brands would help..

Edit: haha just found a good article.. so I guess I answered my own question -sigh-
