i wouldnt call most of them healthy. unless you go right after theyve restocked, but they do have some pretty handsome fish and theyre all definitely worth owning :) while they have some pretty handsome ones at petco/petsmart though theyre nothing compared to those on aquabid and other sites. ive never seen fish so pretty :)

Considering the prices of true giants, I doubt pet stores would have any..

I provisionally agree, although I have seen LFS fish that were prettier than many on Aquabid.

Problem with importing fish: there is no way to assess their personality.

While not a major consideration for a breeder, as a keeper of aquatic pets, personality is of major importance to me. Most hobbyists would agree.

Import and purchased fish have just as much personality as pet shop fish. Though I enjoy my purchased fish a lot. I DO own quite a few HM and HMPK fish from PetCo and PetsMart and they are nice too and I often will breed them. But for pure lines I have to stick with imports and fish from breeders.
