Fin Rot!

My nearly 2 year old male betta has a terrible case of fin rot...
I noticed that his fins were jagged and turning a darker color,
so I started to treat him right away, and I have given him more
water changes.

However, now his fins are falling apart! I don't know what to
do, I have given him Marycin II and Melafix, but it's getting worse!

Please help my Mr. Betta!:'(

when i had a fin rot problem i used aquarium salt for 10days and 10DAYS ONLY, and MELAFIX made by API with this agian ONLY 10 DAYS. the melafix will radidly repair damaged fins, ulcers and any open wounds, and the aquarium salt will kill any infections the fish might have. hope this helps

Thank you, I will continue to use Melafix on my betta.

Though the dead parts on his fins still have to come off, the infection
doesn't seem to be spreading, and he is a healthy color once again.

Oh, no, he doesn't look that bad. I
remember that happened to my girl, Meiko,
and she died...

I will try to take a picture of him now.
(He's a bit camera shy, but let's see
if he'll let me.)

Okay, I couldn't really get a clear picture, but here's Jules-Satoshi.
(This isn't his home.)

im sorry about your girl Meiko, it took me about 3 months to get P.D looking better.. but your guy doesnt look that bad, parts of the dead fin will fall off so i really wouldnt wory about that unless it keeps on falling apart, but the Melafix will help, and if not try using it with the AQ Salt.

Thanks for letting me know that it would fall off; because I just
looked at him about a moment ago and I seen that the dead part
had fallen off.

I am glad to hear that you saved your fishy. ^^
