Almond leaves for bubblenests

Hi,
I have an Almond leaf in my breeding tank for my male Plakat to use.
When you use a foam cup cut in half,most of the cup is` out of the water,should they Almond leaf be even with the surface or should it be above the surface like the cup?
I am planing on moving my male into the breeding tank and the female into the glass chimney a couple of days after the male.
I will keep everyone updated on how things go.

You want the IAL to float on the water, the male will build his nest underneat and the leaf won't sink after soaked because of the bubbles.
When placing the leaf make sure you place it so there's an air bubble underneat.
Like on the pic I attached. It will keep your leaf floating and will encourage your male to buil his nest.

Thank you! I think its a very funny picture because the female is backwards. They took a long time before they embraced correctly and she kept releasing eggs without an embrace.

@ vilmarisv some females continue to release eggs even with out the embrace thats true and even when no male is present..like for example if you have her in a jar close to the male..depending on how ready she is she may drop the eggs in her own container w/o the male and ofcourse they dont hatch... ..i have two spawns to post up..that male looks jus like mines in that embrace lol..

Well,I may end aborting this breeding!
The male is more than ready,flirting and swimming back to the nest,coming back to the female and swimming back to the nest,looking back to see if she is following him.
Both females I tried just have no interest!!
No breeding bars,no hanging head,they are just not interested.
Both male and females are 4 months old.
I had one in the chimney for a week,released her,she swam straight to the nest,that was it.
The other one has been in the chimney for 3 days,just not interested in the male.
I will wait awhile longer,if it is a no-go,I will put them back in thier own tanks and try anouther pair.
I got them some live Brine Shrimp today,hoping that will get her going!

I went up to turn the light off,she had dropped some eggs in the chimmney!!
I released her,she was swimming around the nest,I will keep an eye on them in the morning.

My female also released her eggs without the male too but it was after they spawned for 2 hours.The female only released her eggs when i turn on the lights.
