Another southern California newbie!

Hello! I just joined the forum a few days ago and am looking forward to learning the best way to keep my two new bettas happy! I picked up a female blue at Petco two weeks ago- she's got a one-gallon setup right now until I can get her a bigger tank set up. What an imp!
And I just got a tangerine-colored male veiltal two days ago. He's got some fin damage so he's being medicated. I bought a 6.6 gallon bookshelf tank for him and am rummaging through the forums for the best way to set it up. (heh- a $2 fish and a $100 worth of equipment.)

I also started working at a local pet supply store recently and since we do sell the little guys in a cup, anything I can learn to help others give these fish a great life is a real bonus.
