Mad fish disease?? HELP

I have a lot of oaks in my yard, what is the best type? Also how crushed? Like mortar and pestle crushed or fingers crushed. I have a sick fish, just picked him up recently, trying to dr. Him up. Thx

I have and use about 6 different Oak trees on my land.....as far as I know all are safe to use......I crush with my hands.....

Ok thanks, any problem using mopani root? I picked one up that didn't have a tag on it and it stained the water fast. I took it out and have been soaking it since to try and leach out as much of it (tannins?) as I can.

Well, he died in the hospital tank over night. Kinda peeved, he was like $14 and he had a beautiful over half tail, guess that's the risk of buying pet store bettas. Thanks for your help. This is one of the best forums I've been on.

Not sure how long you have had him, but most pet stores at least have some sort of guarantee. Petsmart is 2 weeks, if the fish dies within those two weeks, you take the dead fish and your receipt into the store. You can either get a refund or exchange for another fish.

I'm so sorry your fish passed away. I know all too well the heartbreak of losing a gorgeous new Betta. I wish you the best if you try again!

....Can't find the receipt. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been two weeks, but I've been treating him for about 5 days and it was a day or so before I isolated him. I guess I'll have to eat the cost. I also picked up anoter fish from the same store at the same time but he seems ok for now.
