What fish colours to breed?

Hi I was just wondering if you could tell me your favourite fish colours and what you colours you would reccomend me breeding. I am looking at a white ohm male from a breeder near me, any suggestions what I could or should breed with that for good quality offspring?

My first choice would be a spawn mate of his. Does the breeder of the OHM have a sister he would sell you? Of course, I would also want to breed fish as close to the show standard as possible.

Agreed. Always spawn brother to sister and then mother to son and father to daughter.

I love solids so I don't like crossing colors. White to white, blue to blue, red to red.

Keep in mind that HM x HM doesn't necessarily = HM offspring. Halfmoons are made up of 3 genetic mutations- some are recessive and some are dominant, so they don't always breed true. You may only get 1 or 2 true halfmoons out of 100 offspring, it's all about luck and rearing the fry properly. If you don't mind having mostly super delta or delta offspring, then you can decide on a color (personally I'd choose blue, copper or opaque), but if the genetics are an issue, stick with other tail types. =D

Thanks for your advice, is it the same for ohm?Thats what he is supposed to be. Pictures of a sibling female hopefully coming soon :)
