You can another Betta, or a shrimp tank, or snail that's it.

since it has a filter, u can probs fit 1 betta and if ur willing to do a ton of water changes as well u mite fit a school of tetras in there but thats stretching it almost too far

snail maybe? a female OR male betta?

Pog, it doesn't have the footprint or the capacity to support anything other than a betta or inverts. Tetras are definitely out.

If it was mine, I'd turn it into an NPT and breed cherry or crystal shrimp. :)

I would say no to the fry tank, unless it's going to be one fry which would be weird then sure. Hospital/spare tank sounds great.

Mystery/Apple snails grow quite large, I think you could only pass with one and at the max two snails, these snails poop a lot and their bioload is actually quite high.

If I had betta fry, jarred most and had the tank I'd put one in it xDD that's about it. mst fry are soooo weak for immune systems, such as guppy, molly and platy fry because they are ones who do better in cycled aquariums :) and cyclign a 2.5 is not recommended :p

Bettas are awesome xD why not right? :3 give in to the betta bug!!!
