Here is my new betta for my classroom that the kids named "Nebula". The picture doesn't do him justice.... He changes as he moves from blue to green and purple... He's a beauty!
Oh, he might be stressed because of his environment. He's in a classroom right, what kinds of hiding places does he have? And what size bowl is it? Are people constantly looking at him and around his bowl? The stripes might be stress related.
He's still at home in the two gallon... I ordered a 5 gallon for school,,, just arrived today and not set up yet... Will keep him at home until he settles in.
