Well today I finally contacted OFL myself. Nice lady! She told me basically that in such a heavily planted tank as mine is even without a filter (which I have) the plants will do a lot of the filtering for me so 50% while it wouldn't hurt I can do 30% like I have been doing and it will be perfect. Now that's one stresser off my mind maybe my headache will die down long enough for me to have a good nights sleep :(

Yeah definitely worth doing Sena. I think if a tank is big enough to cycle why not do it? I wish I had done it without fish but this move was literally a do it now or risk further harm. I know it's bad and its practically fish abuse and I should be flogged but when it's that or risk him getting hurt by bullying tetras I would rather get him out of there.

y'know, as "bad" as it is as long as you keep up with proper water changes it won't be as bad... Bettas are extremely hardy give 'em some credit! :p

Most tanks actually cycle themselves anyways, if they are 5 or more gallons. I know all mine have just... now it's on purpose xD
