Just got a new beta fish I need help

When do I ned to feed them and change water?

to feed them you should use pellets. (3 pellets twice a day) Usally bettas wont touch flakes. and maybe give him variety by adding frozen bloodworms/brine shrimp once or twice a week (as much as they can consume in 2 minuites)

and as for water changes- how big is your tank?

also do you have a heater and thermomitor? those are absolutly needed bcuz betta water has to always have a temperature around 78 degrees.

and just to make him happy- some plants (silk is better than plastic) and hideouts in there would be good, makes him feel safe and secure.
