I would add them to the tank so that they can feed on it or you can use small pieces of cuttlebone that is used for birds.

If you use egg shells-be sure and clean them properly...

OFL, what's the best way to clean them? I have recently added RCS to one of my tanks and have a couple of females getting large so I may see babies sometime soon. I want to be sure they're getting what they need.

Dry them out really good and make sure the membrane is fully removed....this can grow all kind of fungus/mold....Cuttlebone is really a better option but egg shell will work..

Oh speaking of fungus, I stored a heater out of the tank for awhile after it had ben submerged, and when I put it in, about a month later, I noticed some gray stuff which smelled like how a towel does if yo leave it wet cruumpled on the bathroom floor, the tank seems fine and they gray stuff is starting to go away, should I be concerned?
lol i should start a new thread, but OFL is here! :D

My favorite fish, POG, my first EVER betta is in there and I dont want him in danger AT ALL.. lol u no how I feel

I would boil them, remember the salmonella risk is on the egg shell so you should try and kill that (even though many fish carry the disease too, there's no reason to put more in the tank).
