veitmamese veil tail?

Aquarium salt "might" work, but you are better off with fungal meds, such as by JUNGLE or API. I have both. I'm worried it could be columnaris - a balloon molly I had had it, and had it as a spot on her fin like that. Eventually it spread despite AQ salt, and killed her. And yes it is contagious so sterilize EVERYTHING to avoid cross contamination, along with keeping the water cooler (they thrive in warm water!!!)

Thanks... I really hope it isn't columnaris... as the lesion looks kinda like it but not quite & no milkly or cottony features, time to put on my white coat... I'm going out to get meds asap!!! I will do my best to continue to save him even though, it seems to be a bigger job than I thought I was getting myself into.

Well, I've got meds on board (2 out of the 4 that were rescued)... But keeping my eyes on those other 2!
Thanks Sena... I'm glad I found this site before I lost the 2 that I'm medicating, because the Dalmatian one seems like he has a lot more going on than I could see until I added meds & it colored the water... I noticed white around the gills that weren't noticeable earlier & the other one that looks like he has some of the Dalmatian characteristics with different colors as well... I knew looking at him, he has gill rot.
Hopefully it's not too late for either of them!!! Will post the results!
