Ending AQ Treatment

Hey everyone!

Tonight is the last night of my boys AQ treatment, but I'm second guessing returning him to his community tank, because my male platy has been picking on him quite a bit, and he isn't ballsy enough to stand up for himself.

He's in a 5 gallon, so I was just wondering if two separate 3 gallon water changes would be good enough to dilute the salt in his quarantine tank?

What was he in for and for how long? Many keepers do not recommend salt as a treatment, including the highly-regarded, very experienced Byron Hoskin at TFK, our main site.

I've never heard of removing a pollutant as causing difficulties, but if it makes you feel better....
(This is an area where I can stand to be corrected.)

Is the 5gal going to be his new home?

He had some minor fin rot. I tried to let it heal on it's own with pristine water, but he wasn't making any progress

Yeah, the 5 gallon would be his new permanent home. I really want to keep him in the 10 gallon, but I don't want him being picked on
