Is this filter okay?

I have an old tetra whisper power filter that worked great for a goldfish tank i had a few years ago, i was wondering if it would be fine to put it in my 10 gallon betta tank, because after going through the water flows through the filter it falls from the top of the filter back into the tank and causes a little bit of current right where it falls. I know bettas dont like current, but would he learn to stay away from it? or should i put a plant right infront of it

As long as it work correctly it should be fine
it is possible you may have to baffle the outflow
some bettas like a good current. others do not. i had a veiltail that loved currents but my crowntail hates them and will sulk until it has a baffle.
