Emergency! Buddha is sick :(

Thank you do much for your help. You have no idea how much it means to me, especially since my mom is doing the whole "it's just a fish thing."
I put Buddha in his hospital tank with his new and old water. I currently don't have a Place proper for him in a dim area, so he's up where he normally is. Except I put dark paper on the sides to prevent his reflection.
I also took out his gravel and it will get washed out tonight. I put some salt in as well as the conditioner, so I hope everything gets better soon. I'm going to have to invest in a water tester so next time I can figure out what it's wrong, quicker. Thank you very much for you help :)

Alright, well he seems to somewhat getting better. He's slowly swimming around like he normally does, and the flaring has stopped.
Also, he seems able to sleep now! Which is great because last night he was so recklass. I'm going to continue with all the water changes and fasting for the next few days to make sure it doesn't come back, and hopefully he'll be happy again :)

If he's worse tomorrow, I'm calling possible parasites.

If it's getting remarkably better, I'd say it was the water.

Well, he's not getting much better as of now.
I have a scarf wrapped around the tank to create a dark atmosphere, to help him sleep, and also to prevent his reflection from showing.

I've been taking the scarf off, checking on him every few hours, and his fins are open, as if he's been seeing his reflection. It's hard to explain, but it's as if he's still seeing his reflection in the dark. He's sleeping though, but I don't like it...

I'm doing a water change today, and I hope it will work. Then I'm going to return him right back on the shelf with the scarf.
