One of my male bettas is a VT, and I've had him for 3 years (was full grown when purchased) and for the past at least 6 months he has been having swim bladder issues. All he does is sit/float in a plant so he can breathe at the surface. At feeding time is it hard for him to get the pellets even when placed right in front of him. And when he tries to swim after them it just looks like its a struggle for him.
When he isn't by his plant he is like vertical floating with his head at the surface like he can't swim normally at all. I just don't know if there's anything I can do for him, it just hurts to see him like this, especially because when it started I thought he wouldn't last long. Since he's still alive I just don't know what to do. Advice welcome. He is in a 3 gal heated critter keeper. Thanks.
