Aquarium Salt for Damaged Tail?

My white OHM damaged his tail during shipping, i was wondering if aquarium salt would help it heal faster? should i add it directly to this tank or just make a salt bath? how would i do this?

also... another betta of mine has a very mild case of fin rot, would a salt bath help for this too?

The more info we have the better......

Often the best medication is clean water from water changes, good nutrition and time....

the above info is for my white OHM, he's the same one as in my avatar, but you can see the how much he lost during shippping... the breeder i got him from said he was a tail biter. he hasnt bit it since i took him home though, and its showing signs of regrowth.

As said above, clean water is often the best medicine, and also filling out the sticky would help us to help you, just out of interest, did you get him from blimp33?

the following is for the betta who has fin rot. he did have a mild case of it, the edges turned black, very very small pieces fell off, it got shredded from something else a few weeks ago and is starting to heal, i gave him a methylene blue bath when i noticed the fin rot starting, and once more after he shredded his tail. the first photo was taken two weeks ago, the second one was taken today.

clean water works best and the second guy doesn't look like he has any fin rot. Some bettas will get a black ring but that is normal. Fin rot looks curly and melty-ish. I wouldn't treat them for anything they don't need to be treated for. Just keep their water clean and be patient.

I thought he might be, he looks just like my gandalf and may be a sibling! The fin rot looks like it is mostly healed, so I would say the same as the tail biting, a lot of clean water and he should be ok!
