I've done it. One of mine *almost* went down the bathroom sink drain...it was a very near miss. Now I always make sure those drains are CLOSED during water changes... ;) Don't feel bad, it happens, they're jumpers. He's a pretty boy though, especially for a wal-mart fish! I'm sure he didn't look as lovely as he does now when you bought him, so you're obviously doing something right! :)

I had one get put into a squirt bottle because he (and here I quote the child who did this) "wanted to go for a ride". -_-
Had to take pliers to the squirt bottle to break him out. No torn fins or anything. He was and still is fine.

Had one of my girls jump out of my hand and onto the floor last night. o_o Puppy watched her do it like "What the heck?". She's fine.

You'll be amazed at what our little finned friends can live through!

(And yes, my fish are now watched when any small child is near.)

It's not funny, it's really not, but I couldn't help but laugh about the fish in the squirt bottle who took a ride... ;) I love what little kids come up with, though I'm sure your poor betta didn't appreciate it all that much. ;) And I'm shocked the kid could catch a betta, they're normally fast little buggers! ;)
