Umm... What in the world is this stuff?

Hey guys... I'm a little worried. I've been doing one hundred percent water changes and cleanings of my tanks today. I have gotten to my 10 gallon divided tank and as I was siphoning the last gallon or so out of the tank I noticed that as I was moving around the gravel there was some white cottony looking stuff at the bottom of the gravel. I didn't want to touch it with anything that would eventually come into contact with my fish so I kept on siphoning until there was minimal water and dipped a clean q-tip in to scoop it out and it blended perfectly with the swab end. It wasn't too much just enough to make maybe a dime amount.

Any ideas on what this is? I've never encountered anything like it before during past cleanings. My fish both seem completely healthy and unaffected by it because it was under their gravel.

I get this goop coming off the heater in my QT tank. It comes and goes.. doesn't seem to affect the fish at all. I just clean it out, and rinse the tank when I do 100% changes.

Did it look like a web? If so, it's harmless slime mold and just crops up sometimes when there's organic waste in excess. I've had it in my Walstad NPT and just siphoned it out. It came back a few days later, so I siphoned it out again, and haven't seen it again.
