Bambi jumped out of the 29 gallon

OMG Bambi jumped out of the 29 gallon and I almost stepped on her. She seems fine right now and doesn't have any visible wounds. Will she be ok?

Is she acting differently at all?

If she's still eating, isn't swimming awkwardly, can breath, and isn't dead, she'll probably be fine.

You MUST cover a betta tank! I've heard of people using ceran (?) wrap and poking holes in it, but I imagine that it might get warmer (which could be a good or bad thing). Some people also use mesh. I use a towel that covers most of the tank on my tanks without lids.

I drap a long scarf over the back end where my holes are. Yes you must cover holes. You wouldn't believe the tiny holes these fish can aim for. Personal experience talking.

Sounds like she has deer reflexes xD

But seriously, I'd probly freak if I saw my betta out of his tank. I'd read threads on here where their bettas jumped through a 1 inch hole.

yeah.... it's no fun to find a fish out of the tank and not know how long they were out. My jumper, Boomer, is actually back to about 90% now, after her most recent jump.

The first few days can be nerve-wracking, though, after the jump. Good luck!

The first thing I thought of was how appropriate her name is! She'll be fine. <3

I've had a couple jumpers during feeding time with my sorority. they get super excited. But when I feed now I try to have my hands covering the area where they're gathered. My hands have prevented a couple of escapes since doing that! Both times with my jumper girls, I just put them back in and they went right back to begging for food. I think landing on a soft surface like my carpet helped soften the blow.
Glad your girl is doing ok!
