If you see in the first link you listed, the fish were gasping after a while. Also the same exact thing happened to a guy on YouTube, his Oto did the same thing.

All but my snail and my clouds have adaptations for breathing at the surface, so I wouldn't be concerned, plus my plan to take it out as part of my nightly routine. ((I don't have timers, so I have to manually turn lights off and such.))

^ I'd say, just try it out, and if you actually notice any fish gasping for air, feel free to add an airstone or something. From personal experience (and according to the majority of many hobbyists), you should be perfectly fine. With shrimp, otos, and less hardy species of fish you might want to monitor the tank in the beginning more carefully, but with your stocking of what sounds to be hardier fish (white clouds, snails, betta), don't worry too much about it if you do it right!
