Water Change Schedules...

I had a friend giggle at me for having a schedule for each fish :P

There schedules are as follows:

Tidal - Monday - 100% - Wednesday & Friday - 50%
Wave - Tuesday - 100% - Thursday & Saturday - 50%
Henry - Sunday - 100% - Tuesday & Thursday - 50%

Not doing them all at once makes it easier for me, as it is less time consuming.

Anyone else have set schedules when they change the water or any other schedules you have when taking care of your bettas?

I would LOVE to have a set schedule, but I haven't had a set TANK! (I'm brand new at fish keeping.) Anyways, I'd love to know what the best schedule WOULD be to clean out my 3 gallon tank which has a filter.

Once a week cleaning (partial water change) and gravel vacuum would be sufficient ;)

Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)

With a 3 gal tank, you'll still probably need two water changes weekly. One with a gravel vac and one without.

Since all of my tanks are cycled, I just do one water change per tank per week. With all of my tanks this equates to about 70 gallons of water as I don't just have betta tanks. I've also got a community and a goldfish tank.

Since I currently only have bettas in unfiltered tanks, I do one 50% change on a set day for a certain number of tanks (I have nine, so three every day for three days), and then a 100% change for those same tanks three days later (ie. 50% on Monday, 100% on Thursday).

I also have one boy in a 1.5 gallon bowl (it's a thing-- he does best in smaller spaces), and two other boys recovering their fins in similar bowls, so those get 100% changes every two or three days.

100% daily on jars
50% every other day on grow out tanks
And, when its done, 25% twice weekly on barracks.

I've been told all sorts of things about 1 gallon tanks. :l 100% every day, 100% twice a week, Idk. :P I just do 100% every day but 50% on weekends.

For my girls, they're all in different sized bowls while the tanks cycles up. The 3 gal bowl/tanks get 2 50% changes and 1 100% change over the course of two weeks. For the 1 gal bowls, they get 1 50% and 1 100% change each week. For the 1/2 gal bowls (I know, I know... it's temporary.) they get 2 50% changes and 1 100% change per week.

I keep track of it all on notecards. I write down when I do a change and also how much. Each bowl has a card. Every morning I sift cards and decide who needs cleaning. It's tedious, but temporary.
