Haha, the betta bug comes quick and rarely lets you go. Every time I mention bettas to my mom, which is even more often now that I'm setting up my sorority, she'll pretend to fall asleep or moan or do something else silly.

So to us with the betta bug you are perfectly normal!

Wow, now that was deep. I already KNOW I'm not "normal" ha ha ha, that's a good thing. There is no "normal" anyway..it's only perception! Thanks for the great response!

Thanks for all the posts! I really love "Buddy Blue"...my hubby laughs at how much! Giving love to any living creature is always a positive thing. I guess I just never thought much beyond my 4 legged furbies, until now! I get so much pleasure from Buddy...I just want him to be a happy fish.

My boyfriend has the "it's just a fish" mentality when I go and spend $70 at the pet store for new decorations, water care etc. But I'm the same way...I make myself put the computer down and actually have a life. I'll occasionally stop what I'm doing just to look at my tank and make sure Dumbledore is still swimming and happy. Don't worry, you just got the betta bug :P

Trust me, I'm the same way right now! I'm constantly on this forum and loving the excessive amount of friendly people in this place.

It's certainly an addiction. I just want to buy my betta more and more things!

Birds are really nice too.... I love the ring necked doves, they seem so... cozy to me. But they take so much more room than Bettas. And the parrots can live for such a long time, even outliving us.

And then there are the chameleons.. I had one from the fair when i was a kid. One day she laid these huge eggs!
