This surprises me, since the LEDs for the Aqueon Evolve have been done with live plants and even with corals. *shrug* Have I been fooled? Because I'll be honest: I like the light. Nice, bright white with a hint of blue = Classy.

It's been a tough day today, but I've kept myself busy looking into schooling needs and working, so tomorrow is a new day.

I know I'm a little late to this thread, but I did want to jump in and say that I have the evolve 2 and I love it! Just know that there's not actually 2 gallons for your fish to swim in (it's about 1.8 gal I believe). But my betta's doing very well in there. I just added a mystery snail to help with a little algae problem we seem to have. With that being said, I'm managing live plants just fine, I have water wisteria and anubias in the tank and both are doing very well. Actually, my wisteria is doing so well I've had to trim it several times in the last month, but now my other tanks get some as well. :)

As long as the plants don't require really bright light I think you'll be ok. Also, the filter is really too strong for a betta, even on the lowest setting. I tried a bunch of different things and settled on cutting up an old bio bag from a tetra filter (no carbon in the bag at all) and rubberbanded a piece around the outflow tube. It has worked great and was free for me since I had old replacement bags already at the house!

Good luck to you!

I teared up reading this as well. I really hope the best for you, and soon enough the void will be filled when things are settled for you. Stay strong!
