5 Gallon... What can I put in it?

Alright guys, I've tried a couple things and I don't want to keep killing everything. What is/are some/a good hardy nice looking fish that will live well in a 5 gallon tank with some ghost shrimp (there is one oto left not but sure if he'll do any better than the other two... although he is a totally different color and shape... they told me he was an oto)? Filtered, heated, live plants. What are some good ideas so I stop going in the wrong direction? Thanks!

I had a betta, but I lost him tragically and am not ready for another one yet. But I would love to get one again someday for sure, just not quite yet.

What you have might not be an oto. Try looking into chinese algae eaters or siamese algae eaters. There are a lot of fish with that general look. We need to figure out what your fish is first before we can tell you what else you can add to the tank.

There are not many fish suited for a 5 gallon tank. Betta is the easiest one. Dwarf puffers and some species of micro rasbora are suitable but dwarf puffers have specific dietary requirements and micro rasbora are sensitive fish. Betta are your best bet. Try to get a healthier fish next time. And see to it that your tank is cycled before adding any more fish.
