Exclamation My betta has a small, faint red line near his eye on either side.

I'm worried if it is a illness or just small cuts. I changed my tank water just recently and put conditioner in. I feed him flakes and freeze-dried blood worms. Should I buy Stress Coat and/or Aquarium Salt? Thanks if any advice is given!

One of my fish got the same thing on either side of his face the first time I saw him flare. I'm not sure what it was, but it healed without anything being put in the tank. Just keep a close eye on him. Stress coat would be nice, but it won't do all that much other than put your mind at ease.

OK, I'll just leave it and wait. I'm going to the pet shop tomorrow so I'll pick up some stress coat just in case he turns pale (not long ago his colour was turning a bit light, however at the moment he's fine.)

color turning pale is a BAD sign, please fill out the sticky in the link so we have more information. Please include how much you feed him at each feeding. I also suggest buying aq/esp salt

He isn't pale anymore and the small lines are pretty much gone now since I put some new Stress Coat that I bought today in. So I'm pretty sure he's OK.
