Well, he's all clamped now. And has stopped eating again. I got him to take 5 pellets yesterday, but he wouldn't take the 6th, and he's not eating again today. Lethargy is at a max. He pretty much doesn't move unless I brush my finger by him.

hmmm... will he flare? they dont get fed very much in store... maybe it's a sudden case of constipation... try some epsom salt ...

did you slowly work up on the aquarium salt?

Slow as I could. Started with 1/2 tsp for two days (daily water changes), and upped it to 1tsp this morning. I always acclimate my bettas very slowly, over the course of an hour or more.

I just got back from work, and he's acting really strange. He's still lethargic, but anytime he does move, its very erratic and his body is very stiff. All images are from just a few moments ago. The way he's floating by the surface is what he does 90% of the time.

is there a whitish lump near his tail or is that just my imagination? I would maybe message OFL about this. I'm quite perplexed.

Well, it doesn't matter now. He didn't survive the night. Honestly, I have NO idea what happened. At least I could make his last few days comfortable, instead of having to die in a cup or a peace lily vase.

Its just weird, he didn't seem that bad when I bought him. Not clamped, not exactly active, but he wasn't on death's doorstep in his cup. I even got him to eat within 24 hours. Then all of a sudden, its like his condition dropped off a cliff. Ah well... he's joining his brethren in the huge fish tank in the clouds.
