My whites have been on pellets for months now... as you can see they are a nice pearly white.

Holy you have a lot of white Bettas. I so want a white one. Can never find then here in Canada. ;(

originally I'd say he was a bi color, that just finished coloring up. I think the fish we're talking about has white fins too.

While I did actually think at time of purchase newfish might have had "Cambodian" coloring, I had no idea of just how terrible he must have been feeling in that cup to have been THAT pale. I haven't actually fed him any pellets either, he's so small (not much bigger than those petco baby bettas) he was having a difficult time with them, so he's been getting spoiled with brine shrimp.

I was trying to show (sarcasm doesn't work so well in text!) that often times a drastic color change after purchase probably has a lot more to do with the fish de-stressing than with the food you give him.

yeah lol. Silly fish. I've had quite a few color up on me. Although my white and grizzled black CT stayed like that for the most part. The only difference is he's actually a marble with super super light grizzled purple on the "white parts"
