I got a baby betta about 5 or 6 days ago without knowing in advance that the babies at petco usually aren't very healthy... But my girl is doing great and she's growing fast! I was able to tell the sex after about 3 or 4 days, so she must not have been too young when I got her. She looks like she's a VT (although I'm not great at telling what types females are) and looks like she's going to be mainly blue with what looks like a dark red on top of her head and streaks of it on her tail and fins. Although her color seems to still be slightly transparent, so depending on the lighting it sometimes looks like her stress stripes are showing, but as long as she's acting normal I don't really worry about it. I think as long as they are kept in good conditions and treated well they'll turn out fine.

Some babies are a decent size and have a good chance of making it. It's the ones that are smaller than a dime that have a hard road ahead of them.

The ones at my store are all teeny. They usually don't have any color and they are smaller than Neons.

I wish I had a Petco. I'd love to raise a baby betta. The youngest betta I've ever had was 5.5 months old.
