ya thats what i was thinking about doing the guy at petsmart (it was kind of rude but i had to correct him about betta care) kept telling me, oh they'll die, theres no need, you dont need a filter, or a heater, they can be kept in bowls, i felt the need to correct him with the proper info, anyway i think i will get sone java fern, some spiral grass and some sword plants?

Conditioners deal with ammonia by turning it into ammonium which is harmless. But your test kit still reads that as ammonia. Keep up with your changes and don't worry.
