Tip for Taking Pictures of My Betta

Does Anyone have any tips for taking pictures?
So far not having much luck.

i usually sneak up on mine, or when its getting late, turn off the light and turn it back on(it may stress your fish, so use caution) quickly and snap pics.

Sunlight makes a huge difference, you don't have to use flash and their colors look amazing. Just make sure your fish isn't stressed out and get them used to the light before putting them completely in the sun.

I agree with Copper, natural lighting is a best for taking pics or LED lighting. But never put your Bettas in direct sunlight it can cause them severe stress or blindness cause they don't have eyelids like we do

At night when there sleeping (i use flash) XDD but most of the time i wait until they stop moving and zoom into them

Don't use a flash..a flash will wash the fish's color out in the pic....if you need more light use a good LED flash light and don't shine it directly at the fish and try to keep the main beam reflection out of the view finder..If your camera has a macro feature then the pics will come out a lot clearer when taken closeup. it'll be a little button that looks like it has a flower on it.

Thanks Relic for typing that out. Figure out how to use your camera and the MACRO setting.

• Prefocus the camera before taking the actual picture.
• Most cameras make a little beeping noise before the picture is taken.
• That noise, is the the camera letting you know, it's FOCUSED.
• If you agree that the picture the camera is about to take is FOCUSED, then take the picture.
• Done.

It takes PRACTICE to get to know your camera & how it reacts to certain light situations.

• Some cameras have a faster reaction time than others.

• Bumping the ISO up to 400-800 will help.

But keep in mind the higher the ISO you choose, the NOISER/GRAINY the photo becomes.

I use the flash @ times, but it's hit or miss. You have to know the RANGE of your flash bulb for your specific camera, before you'll be able to take advantage of the flash.
